About Me If thou must know, I am hardly a high bred lady as it were. Irish born and bred I tend to enjoy my meat and potatoes better then the dainty delicacies most ladies of the court eat. I am not one to turn down slipping breeches under a shift and joining the squires and pages for a game of crudgle ball. Though I am also not one to turn down a theatrical performance either. Shakespeare being my favorite of course. None of this Marlow junk.
Music Minuet is mostly all I hear, but a lilting Irish ditty, and a rousing pub song do not escape me.
Books I prefer romance novels. And though Her Majesty saith I should not fill my head with such useless prattle I see her glance over my shoulder as I sit by my fireplace.
Likes Women who can think for themselves, like Her Majesty. Women who need not lean on an understanding of the populace to derive who they are. Men who are man enough to show that they care, even in small gestures. Men who seek to prove their love, not simply state it.
Dislikes all the opposites of the aforesaid.
Hobbies I suppose a lady should say embroidering and sewing and knitting. Though I am a good hand at knitting, I prefer racing squires and pages through the kitchen gardens, riding astride my black bay mare Celeste, and other such considered more manly activities.
Vices Romance. I can not escape a good romance novel. Nor can I escape it when romance is close at hand.
Virtues I suppose I am chiefly compassionate and faithful. Though my Irish heritage do not allow for peace and patience.
Heroes Barron Jack Hoyle, chiefly for defending my honor against the boastings of a simple manservant

God save my weary heart!  As it seems there hath been a bit of confusion.  As it turns out, though My Lord Marshall Laww Earl of Kent did ask my hand before both myself and Her Majesty and though Her Majesty did agree, it were my counterpart My Lady Diana Howard that he did wish.  As these wishes were given unto her Majesty I were released from my bonds... leaveing myself free to accept My Lord Robin Locksley of Huntington's hand (with Her Majesty's willing permission of course).  So I shall very willingly be Baroness of Huntington as opposed to Countess of Kent.

Though I shall be dismissed of Her Majesty's service I shall also not be required to be at court.  Though I shall dearly miss my companions of court I know that I will not be deprived of them.

Gladsome am I to bear My Lord Robin's brood over My Lord Marshall's for both My Lord Kent and myself would truthfully beget some very homely babies.  It is my dearest hope that both My Lady Diana and My Lord Robin's particular handsomeness shall override My Lord Marshall's and Mine Own particular homeliness.

I know not when or where a wedding shall take place, but I shall hope for mayhaps a spring wedding at Winchester.

Louden Claire I suppose will be the first to know and then all the goodly peasents shall be aware.  Until then, I shall sigh at the joy and wonder of my good fortune.

    The Pirate inside the Noble...

    Saturday, November 24, 2007, 11:59 PM [General]

I be Lady Martha "Marcy" Potts, Handmaiden and Cup-bearer to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Regina Gloriana... GOD SHAVE THAT QUEEN!

Alright I'll admit Marcy is a bit of a trouble maker... but otherwise being a noble is just no fun!

So, Marcy started her life under the name of Daredra McDawdle, only daughter and pride and joy of Galway, Ireland's goat-herder.  To parents of the names of Angus McDawdle and Ambrosia McDawdle.  She had only and elder brother, Keegan McDawdle.

She lived in Ireland for three years and had just begun helping to herd goats when raiders swept through the countryside.  In the raid both mother and father were killed and Keegan had fled.  Daerdra was captured and tossed upon a slave trade ship that had just arrived from Russia.

As the ship made it's journey towards England to disgorge it's cargo, Daredra befriended and was watched over by Sabina the Gypsy.  After making a crafty escape from the slave traders the pair escaped to a gypsy clan within the vacinity.  As one day the Queen came to visit where the clan had pitched their tents and discovered the gypsy family, the gypsies pleaded for their lives.  And so Her Majesty demanded of them the young English girl who at the age of five, was in desperate need of proper raising.

The Queen took Daerdra into her services as her handmaiden and cup bearer.  At the age of five she began waiting on the Queen.  Resulting in several wine-spattered dresses in the Queen's wardrobe.

Many years have now passed and as war with Ireland breaks out Daerdra is forced to protect herself.  As after so many years of not using it she has lost her accent and the Queen, instead of taking her life for being Irish, asked only that she changer her name, thus Martha Potts was born.  And now with the company of her fellow handmaiden Lady Diana Howard Marcy serves Her Majesty dilligently and well.

I am Marcy Potts... I am a trouble maker.  Though I am not skilled at court intrigue I am an avid trickster.  I am constantly confused with my seemingly double Lady Diana Howard.  I no longer have a father or mother, and have jut recently found my brother and so Her majesty not only supports me with a more than generous allowence, Her Majesty is soo gerenous, but of course I must say that, she makes most of the major desicions in my life... particularly marriage...

I am also betrothed to My Lord Marshal Laww Earl of Kent.  An elligable bachlor he may be, but he is also thus far one of the worst matches I have yet seen, he is nearly three times my age, and he scares the wits out of me.  I am betrothed to him because of a match made by Her Majesty.  The only consolation I may have is that My Lord's old nanny shall remain in my company.  But, of course, what I find most upsetting, is the topic of children.  I would rather die than bear his children, the line of the Earls of Kent shall end in my barren womb

I am friends with many peasents, cheifly among them Lenora Badby, Rebecca Renshaw, Maeve Snyder, and a largelysome hoard of gypsies that I feed.  I find consolation in their food deprived eyes, and the joy in teir smiles as I feed them.

Though most of my relationships with the rest of Her Majesty's court are quite superficial, I find I get along exceedingly well with My Lady Penelope Deveraux, Baroness Rich, My Lady Anne Dudly, first lady in waiting, My Lady Amy MacDivit, Furture Duchess of Sussex, and Sir William Parker, Baron Morely... Oh yes and Baron Jack Hoyle... good man.

I suppose I shall be done for now... *glares* Timothy Shillington if thou dost not bow this very instant I shall put thee in the stocks a day for every time you have not bowed to me...!
